MANSUNAGA

The 1905 and Kenzo Collections

Why Masunaga?

Masunaga frames have been carried at EYESPOT since our opening in 2011. These remarkably well-made frames combine obsessive craftmanship with simple elegance. Fukui, Japan is one of the three largest production regions for optical frames in the world. Masunaga Optical premiered the production of eyeglasses in Fukui in 1905.
In order to raise the quality standards of the products, Gozaemon established a guild like system where full-fledged craftsmen could create their own businesses. There are as many as 200 manual processes involved in making an optical frame. An integrated production system aids in quality control and keeps track of small details in the process.

1905 Collection

The 1905 Collection includes all of Masunaga’s most popular frames. Each pair of eye glasses is crafted in Fukui, Japan from the finest materials including Japanese Titanium. The 1905 Collection has both optical and sun glasses so that you can express your style anytime, anywhere.

Kenzo Collection

The glasses in the Kenzo Collection were all created by one of Japan’s most celebrated fashion designers, Kenzo Takada. This collection combines vintage-inspired elements with fashion-forward, contemporary design. Each frame has delicate engraving reminiscent of 1920’s jewelry, along with a star motif rim from Takada’s family emblem, a Campanule Flower.

The Kenzo Collection is highly exclusive and EYESPOT is honored to be one of very few locations to offer it. These are true top-tier eye wear that will not disappoint.
